LaPlace, LA — The River Region Chamber of Commerce today announced that Amber Becnel has been named Event & Program Coordinator, a newly created role designed to expand the Chamber’s programs, signature events, and partnerships across St. Charles, St. John the Baptist, and St. James Parishes.

In this role, Becnel will plan and execute Chamber events and membership initiatives, manage event logistics and vendor relations, support sponsor and investor engagement, assist with committee and program coordination, and help align programming with the Chamber’s strategic priorities and member value.

Becnel joins the Chamber from the Port of South Louisiana, where she served as Public Information Officer and Assistant to the Chief Commercial Officer after first interning with the Port. At the Port, she supported strategic communications and business development efforts by writing and distributing press releases, producing the Port’s magazine (PortLogs), coordinating events from concept to completion, and advancing strategic marketing initiatives. During her tenure, she worked closely with Alex Hernandez (Public Information Officer) and Port of South Louisiana Chief Commercial Officer Micah Cormier.
