Thursday, June 25, 2026 (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM) (CDT)
Description
During St. James Parish STEM Fest, students in grades K-12 will have the opportunity to design, build, and engage with more than 60 different STEM activities including making elephant toothpaste and slime, watching a live sheep heart dissection, riding a hovercraft, and building rockets. Throughout the morning, the students will learn about things like wind energy, solar energy, coding, designing, and programming robots. Participants will also be able to build and test their own battery-powered cars. The event is free and open to the public. Visit registration.stemnola.com to participate.
College students and professionals are needed to volunteer at the event by helping with one of the many interactive stations. Volunteers may sign up online at stemnola.galaxydigital.com. Volunteers will bring individual stations to life by demonstrating, explaining, or facilitating the station’s unique STEM experience. No prior experience is needed. Training and instructions, along with breakfast and lunch, will be provided on site for volunteers.
