J.B. Martin Middle School Career Day
Friday, February 6, 2026 (8:15 AM - 12:00 PM) (CST)
Description
Inspiring Tomorrow's Workforce—One Conversation at a Time
The River Region Chamber of Commerce is proud to support JB Martin Middle School’s Career Day, an interactive, fair-style experience designed to expose middle school students to real-world careers, industries, and opportunities right here in our region.
This event will be set up like a job or college fair—no formal presentations required. Business and industry volunteers will host a station in the school gym while students rotate freely, asking questions and engaging in meaningful one-on-one conversations. It’s a simple, high-impact way to help students connect classroom learning to future career possibilities.
Students are encouraged to ask questions such as:
- What does a typical day look like in your job?
- What education, training, or certifications are required?
- What skills matter most in your field?
- What career paths exist within your industry?
Volunteers may bring handouts, visuals, or small displays to showcase their profession or organization, but these are optional. The focus is on conversation, exposure, and inspiration.
By participating, your organization plays a direct role in strengthening the workforce and education pipeline—helping students see what's possible, understand local career options, and begin thinking about their future at an early age.
If we want a strong workforce tomorrow, engagement starts today. Your presence matters.
