CASA Volunteer Training
Currently there are 24 children in St. John the Baptist Parish waiting for a CASA. These children are in foster care and need a voice to advocate for them in the court room, assist them in getting through the foster care system. Placements and caseworkers change but when a child has a CASA, they have a consistent person in their life until they are in a safe and permanent home. The Court Appointed Special Advocate program of Child Advocacy Services needs volunteers to be the voices for abused and neglected children in the community. CASA Volunteers understand the need for consistency in the life of a child.
CASA training for St. John volunteers will begin at 5:30 pm on Monday November 2, 2015. Call Krisy Rice at 225-647-2005 or email to krice@childadv.net. to sign up for the training and for more details. No special skills required, but a CASA volunteer must make a sincere commitment because the duties are extremely important. Please consider being there for a child. To learn more about Child Advocacy Services’ CASA program visit the website at www.childadv.net. Documents are required to start the training process, so call today!
